2019 Music Scholarship Championships
The Under 15 Edward Callaghan Music Scholarship Championship will be held at the Golden Horseshoe Feis on June 15, 2019.
The 15 and over James Brennan Music Scholarship Championship will be held at the Peach State Feis on May 4, 2019.
2018 Music Scholarship Championships
The Under 15 Edward Callaghan Music Scholarship Championship was held at the Flower City Feis on October 7, 2018.
5 Contestants & Dancers
The winner was Elizabeth Nist from New Brighton, PA.
Second place went to Brianna Cobbey from Wexford, PA.
The 15 and over James Brennan Music Scholarship Championship was held at the Rochester Feis on July 14, 2018.
Contestants: Annie Rutledge from Virginia, Margaret Young from Pennsylvania, Marilena Mohan from Ontario, and Amanda Mulvey from New York.Adjudicators: Linda Rutherford, Sean Flynn, and Kate Wosczna
NAFC Members: Sandy Oswald, Bernadette Broderick, and Anne Gervin.
The winner of the competition was Marilena Mohan from Conestogo, Ontario.
- The 2017 Under 15 Edward Callaghan Music Scholarship Championship was held at the Irish American Association NW Jersey Feis on September 10, 2017. The competition was won by Emily McFadden, dancer at the Broesler School, fiddle student of Brian Conway, from Gaithersburg, MD. The second place winner was Jonathon Ford from Harwich, MA. Congratulations to all the talented competitors!
- The 2017 15 and Over James Brennan Music Scholarship Championship was held at the Detroit International Feis on June 3, 2017. The competition was won by Marilena Mohan from Kitchener, Ontario, her teachers are Nicole Guse and Dan MacDonald. The event was adjudicated by Mary Lou Schade and Jim Butke. Marilena was invited to play on stage with Ena O'Brien for the remainder of the Feis, join us in congratulating this very talented future Feis musician!
2016 Music Scholarship Championships
- 15 and Over James Brennan Music Championship was held at the Montreal Feis on May 21, 2016 - Won by Marilena Mohan, 16 years old, from Kitchener, Ontario. Teachers are Nicole Guse and Dan MacDonald.
- Under 15 Edward Callaghan Music Championship was held at the Catskill Mountain Feis on August 6, 2016 and was won by P.J. Doran from the Loughran School of Music in Yonkers, New York. Ed Callaghan, Jimmy Early and Bernadette Broderick presented the awards. There was 10 competitors, the adjudicators were Jimmy Early and Maggie Ritnour.
